- MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves — not ionising radiation — to build detailed cross-sectional images, with particularly high contrast between soft tissues.

- Neurological, musculoskeletal, spinal and soft-tissue assessment, where the difference between one kind of tissue and another is what matters.
- What to expect
- You lie still inside the scanner while it acquires images. The machine is loud during acquisition, and the examination takes longer than most other modalities. Our team is trained and motivated to give maximum care and support to patients during their examinations.
