Mr. Okpara Everest is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Everight Diagnostic & Laboratory Services Ltd. He has been at the helm of the affairs of the Company since its inception and has demonstrated strong entrepreneurial spirit, unwavering commitment to meet stakeholders’ expectations, with a track record of building lasting business relationships and timely completion of projects.
He founded Everight Diagnostic & Laboratory Services Ltd in 2005. Under his leadership, Everight Diagnostic & Laboratory Services Ltd developed molecular capabilities in 2019, became the first private laboratory to obtain special approval from the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) to offer COVID-19 PCR testings in Nigeria, one of the first set of laboratories approved by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) for real-time COVID-19 PCR testings and obtained an ISO 15189-2022 accreditation for its laboratory in Wuse 2, Abuja.
In 2017, he founded Everight Healthcare Foundation, a charity organization that promotes health awareness and mobilizes resources for free healthcare to the less privileged. He has led the Foundation to sponsor medical treatments of less privileged persons in Nigeria. Through his Foundation, he shone like a star during COVID-19 pandemic by making several life-saving interventions, including donations of food items, face masks, hand sanitizers to the less privileged and more than 100 automated hand washing machines to public institutions, police stations, airports , banks, public and private hospitals, schools, malls etc, to alleviate the negative impact of the pandemic.
Everest Okpara was the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA). He was also the President of the Owerri Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OCCIMA), from 2019 to 2022. Prior to his emergence as the President of OCCIMA, he had served the Chamber as Acting President from 2018 to 2019 and as Deputy President, from 2017 to 2018. He also held the position of NACCIMA Youth Coordinator in the South East region of Nigeria, from 2017 to 2018. His ascension to leadership positions in OCCIMA and NACCIMA was a breath of fresh air to the organized business sector in Imo State.
Mr. Okpara Everest holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Charisma University, USA, a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Lagos State University, a certificate in Healthcare Management from Lagos Business School and a certificate in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA.
Everest Okpara has received several awards in recognition of his sterling leadership, most outstanding of which was the 2021 Africa’s Most Respected CEO Award from The Business Executives in Dubai.
Mr Everest Okpara is the chief advocate of the Company. He has been instrumental in making strategic decisions and policy formulations for the Company. He is known for being credible, courageous, focused, innovative, driven and result oriented. He holds an MBA degree in Business Administration and Management, B.Sc. in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the Lagos State University, a certificate in Healthcare Management from Lagos Business School and a certificate in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, U.S.A. Mr Everest has been a force in investigative medicine for over seventeen (17) years. He is a philanthropist who has made extensive contributions to the social and economic development of his community.
