Everight Diagnostic and Laboratory Services Limited, is a leading radiology and ISO 15189-2022 certified pathology laboratory in Nigeria, incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2005, with RC No. 623921. We are a medical diagnostic solutions company with a vision to become a world class medical diagnostic tourism destination with the capacity to serve the needs of Nigerians and clients from other parts of the world. In achieving this, we ensure consistency, reliability, quick turnaround time, quality of reporting and top-notch clients’ service delivery.
It was started by Dr Everest Okpara, a strategist with general solid business acumen and administrative aptitude, in a three-room apartment in Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria. The Lagos office is the Company’s first branch and doubles as its registered office. In 2013, the Company opened another branch on Assumpta Avenue (Bank Road), Owerri, Imo State. To meet the increasing demand of its rising clientele base, the Company set up its third and fourth branches in Owerri Mall, Owerri, and Okigwe, Imo State, in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Under the leadership of Dr Everest Okpara, Everight Diagnostics developed into a level-3 biosafety laboratory with molecular capabilities at its branch in Owerri in 2019 and was recognised as the first private laboratory to obtain special approval from the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) to offer COVID-19 PCR tests in Nigeria and also one of the first sets of private laboratories approved by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to provide real-time COVID-19 PCR tests.
Still in its quest to expand its foot prints across Nigeria, Everight Diagnostics established its facility in Abuja in 2020. The facility was named the organisation’s headquarters in November 2021, and the medical laboratory at the branch, obtained the ISO 15189-2012 and ISO 15189-2022 accreditations in 2022 and 2025 respectively. The medical laboratory was also recognised as the first corporate member of Nigeria Society for Human Genetics and the first laboratory to achieve ISO 15189 certification in histopathology in Nigeria. As still part of its expansion plan, the company in 2021, acquired a permanent office complex for its branch in Ojo, Lagos State.
To maintain its track record of excellence and culture of innovation, Everight started its branch in Abuja with a well-equipped level-3 biosafety laboratory with molecular capabilities using state-of-the-art medical imaging technology, including a 1.5 tesla MRI machine, 64 slice CT machine, 5D ultrasound machines, advanced digital x-ray machines, Digital Mammogram, Rest and Stress ECG, etc. For the medical laboratory, we have diagnostic platforms including the Quantstudio-6 flex, Rotor gene Q, thermocylers for real time PCR detection and quantification of pathogens of public health importance; DxC 700 AU and Access 2 autoanalyzers (Beckman Coulter) for clinical chemistry immunoassays; BC 6800 haematology autoanalyzer (six parts), Vitec-2 –compact for bacterial and fungal identification and sensitivity testing, Leica Tp 1020 automatic tissue processor, to mention a few.
The Everight medical team consists of highly qualified multi-specialist consultants and experts in various fields, including Pathology, Radiology, Cardiology, and Molecular Biology. Mr Everest Okpara is the chief advocate of the Company. He has been instrumental in making strategic decisions and policy formulations for the Company. He is known for being credible, courageous, focused, innovative, driven and result oriented. He holds an MBA degree in Business Administration and Management, B.Sc. in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the Lagos State University, a certificate in Healthcare Management from Lagos Business School and a certificate in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, U.S.A. Mr Everest has been a force in investigative medicine for over seventeen (17) years. He is a philanthropist who has made extensive contributions to the social and economic development of his community.
